Riot Baby is author Tochi Onyebuchi鈥檚 first foray into adult fiction, a 鈥渇iery鈥 response to the 鈥渉orrifically regular death鈥 of unarmed black men and the non-indictments of officers responsible. It has been heralded by critics as 鈥渟earing" and "devastating,鈥 garnering a long list of awards and nominations.
Although Riot Baby has also been called "dystopian," Onyebuchi explains why that isn鈥檛 exactly the case when it comes to this work of speculative fiction.
