A Coos County grand jury has indicted the driver of a truck that crashed into a group of motorcycles on 23 different charges, including manslaughter and driving under the influence.
Seven motorcyclists were killed when Vladimir Zhukovskyy, 25, allegedly swerved into oncoming traffic on Route 2 in Randolph last June. The riders were all members of the Jarhead Motorcycle Club, which is made up of Marine Corps members and their families.
The indictments include seven counts of manslaughter and seven counts of negligent homicide while driving under the influence. The indictments accuse Zhukovskyy of being 鈥渦nder the influence of a controlled drug, or a combination of controlled drugs鈥� at the time of the crash.
Zhukovskyy previously entered a not guilty plea, and told law enforcement the evening of the crash that he was reaching for an object in the cab of his truck when he inadvertently drifted across the double yellow line.
Witnesses say they saw Zhukovskyy鈥檚 truck and attached car carrier swerve multiple times while travelling in the westbound lane.
He was released from custody the night of the crash, but was arrested at his home in West Springfield, Mass., and extradited the following Monday.
A bail hearing is scheduled for Nov. 5.
